An annual celebration to give thanks, we invite you to create holiday memories and family traditions during this holiday weekend. On Thursday, experience the traditional family activities with your tradition of spending the holiday at Mount Washington Resort. Family turkey-trots, flag football and crafts will keep all members of the family active and anxiously awaiting the Thanksgiving Feast. Friday follows with a step into the holiday season, as Santa has promised to stop by for the Mount Washington Resort tree lighting.

Children and adults of all ages will find merriment at Mount Washington Resort’s winter wonderland. Magical in its snowy splendor, Mount Washington Resort welcomes winter with a warming embrace. Enjoy a festive celebration of sleigh rides, snowshoeing, skiing, stories with Santa and holiday refreshments. Snuggle in front of the fire with eggnog or cider before being tucked in by one of Santa’s elves. Christmas Day invites a full day of skiing and outdoor adventure!

Make A Square While You're There

Use your sewing talents to help create a quilt to be given away to hospice needs once complete. Guests work on individual squares using an outdoor theme. Once the squares are complete, we’ll have them sewn together and sent to the local hospital or hospice as a donation.

In the 19th century, having Afternoon Tea was a graceful event, which was governed by a complex set of rules and etiquette. Our Afternoon Tea will begin at 2pm, just as it did in Edwardian Times, to allow our guests the opportunity experience the traditions and customs of Afternoon Tea in grand and historical atmosphere unique to Mount Washington Resort. We believe that whirling away the afternoon with light conversation and bite-size delicacies is a pleasure to proudly offer our guests.

Disabled Veterans Appreciation Celebration

Bretton Woods Adaptive, Inc. welcomes disabled service men and women to participate in the 2009 Disabled Veterans Appreciation Celebration February 6-8th, 2009. The event will offer ski and snowboard instruction and assistance to physically challenged veterans. Participation is open to those with spinal cord injuries, orthopedic amputation, visual impairments, neurological problems and other disabilities.

Diana Golden Series Level One Adaptive Race

The Golden Cup Series memorializes U.S. and World Champion skier Diana Golden and is intended to promote the sport of ski racing to disabled athletes on the East coast. Level I racing is for everyone; any person with a disability may participate. Racers do not need to have any prior racing experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and racers are encouraged to do there best, but most importantly, to have fun.

This self-guided decadent tour can be enjoyed by using cross-country skis or snowshoes with each tour stop offering an enjoyment of chocolate. Begin at the Bretton Woods Nordic Center or at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Highland Center. Pick up your Sweethearts Card and then head out for the romantic day that waits; you determine where you want to trek. Program is in partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Club's Highland Center.

On the grounds of the historic Mount Washington Hotel and the White Mountain National Forest, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center is one of the largest cross country areas in the East. The 100-km trail network crosses open fields, meanders through woods of spruce and fir, passes beaver ponds and mountain streams, and traverses open hardwood stands.
