Discover the unspoiled beauty of our White Mountain National Forest with an experienced guide to lead you through a variety of trails designed for hikers of all levels. Join our friendly and knowledgeable Adventure Guides for a trip on the trails and paths surrounding the Mount Washington Resort, in Bretton Woods, NH. Whether you prefer a relaxing and educational nature walk, or a guided hike to the summit of the Northeast's highest peak, Mount Washington, NH, we have the program just for you.
Also offered is the West Mountain Hike, an easy to moderate guided hike on the Resort's alpine ski trails to the summit of West Mountain, featuring spectacular views of the White Mountains and the Presidential Range. This hike begins with a fun and scenic chairlift ride to mid-mountain, where the real hiking will begin. The hike will conclude with a descent back to the base area near the Adventure Center.
NOTE: Guided mountain hikes have concluded for the 2008 summer season.
Adventure Hikes - easy to moderate
- Mt Willard: 3.2 miles, 2-2.5 hours
- Aretheusa Falls: 2.6 miles, 2 hours
- Middle Sugarloaf: 2.8 miles, 2-2.5 hours
- North Sugarloaf: 2.4 miles, 2 hours
- Both Sugarloaf peaks: 3.4 miles, 2.5 hours
- Ethan Pond Trail: 3.2 miles, 2-3 hours
- Bugle Cliff via Webster/Jackson Trail: 1 mile, 1 hour
Great Adventure Hikes - moderate
- Webster/Jackson Fork (Silver Cascade): 2.8 miles, 3.5 hours
- Frankenstein/Aretheusa Loop: 4.2 miles, 4 hours
- Zealand Falls: 5.6 miles, 3 hours
- Mt. Eisenhower: 6.6 miles, 6 hours
Epic Adventure Hikes - expert
- Mt. Washington: 7 miles, 8 hours
- Webster/Jackson Trail: 6.5 miles, 4.5 hours (both summits)
- Mt. Jefferson via Caps Ridge Trail: 5 miles, 5.25 hours
2008 Schedule:
- Guided hikes begin in late-May, as conditions allow.
- NOTE: Epic Adventure Hikes have concluded for the 2008 summer season.

Please note:
- Mileage and times listed are for round trip hikes
- All participants are required to have appropriate clothing and sturdy boots. Street shoes are not allowed.
- Water and a trail snack are recommended, and are available for sale in the Adventure Center.
- Transportation will be provided to and from trailhead by resort staff.
- All guided hikes meet and depart from the Adventure Center.
- All hiking and walking programs are weather-dependent and subject to change, please check the daily Bugle or at the Adventure Desk at The Mount Washington Hotel or the Adventure Center for the latest schedule.
- Please note: Reservations for Epic Adventure Hikes are required one week in advance. Unless otherwise noted all rates are per person.
- Children 8-12 welcome when accompanied by an adult.
